Upon graduating Duquesne University with a bachelor of music in guitar performance and an emphasis in composition, Jared went to work for Emmy Award winning film and television composer Joseph LoDuca in Detroit, Michigan. Entering into the company as a synthesizer programmer, Jared's compositional ability became apparent to LoDuca, and within weeks he became one of the three on-staff writers. Working with LoDuca introduced Jared to the film, television, and advertising markets, and gave him the opportunity to hone his craft while scoring music for various television shows, commercials, and documentaries. He still regards those three and a half years as an extremely valuable and significant step in his musical journey.
In May of 1997, Jared left the LoDuca team and moved south to Nashville to form a new company with his brother and partner Adam DePasquale. DePasquale gained a wealth of experience by composing music for 14 feature and independent films and numerous documentaries, as well as acted as an arranger on countless record albums in the Nashville recording scene.
In the spring of 2002, Jared relocated his studio and residence to Chicago, Illinois where he has continued to work as a composer and producer. His 2004 score for an adaptation of George MacDonalds' "At the Back of the Northwind" was his first attempt at composing in the orchestral fantasy genre and was received with critical acclaim. Jareds' latest project turned out to be the most difficult and yet the most rewarding of his career when he was asked to write a score for an adaptation of Corey Ten Booms' "The Hiding Place". It is the true story of the Ten Boom family hiding Jewish refugees during the Nazi occupation of Holland during World War II. When Jared isn't writing he enjoys working as a guitarist in the city and attending as many Major League Baseball games as he can.
